Alesia, 52 B.C.
Caesar was surrounded by 80,000 Gauls, inside the walls and outside the walls. And someone handed him stale grocery store coffee. So he did what any reasonable general would: he built two walls, and demanded a better cup.
The Romans did not start a fight without first making an offering and reading the omens. If the signs were bad, you went home. In July we made ours, which in this case was one month of production and a very expensive video, and then we waited to see what you would do about it.
You ordered a hundred and seventy nine bags. Light Roast finished the window as the third best selling coffee we make, behind only the Dark and the Medium, which have been here since the beginning.
The omens were good. The light roast stays.
Thank You, Julius.

Shipped the week it's roasted. Never aisle-nine stale.

A light roast for impossible mornings.

The wild founding spirit, in every bag.
“Fresh roast for impossible mornings.”
Yes. It started as a one month run in July, it sold well enough to stay, and it is part of the regular lineup now.
